New features on the Pinga app: expanded range & service area, map tracking, rating & tipping
Since we re-launched the Pinga app in July 2020, we’ve come a long way. From initially not having a product search functionality (for those of you that didn’t experience this, can you imagine!), no product descriptions, and no Google/Apple Pay option, we’ve added all of these features and more.
Today we’re looking at a few of the latest features and updates to reach the app, showcasing why it’s a much better product than it was six months ago.
Vastly expanded range of shops & products
In our Co-op shops alone, we’ve managed to increase the range of available products from around five hundred items, to over two and a half thousand. That means there’s not much you can’t now get from Co-op, and no half-bought shopping lists.
Of course the occasional thing still isn’t available when you search. If this happens, please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll do our best to get that product added!
In addition, we’ve added several new retailers, including:
- Hackney Fresh – a delightful independent supermarket in Hackney Central
- Better Health Bakery – a social enterprise bakery based in Haggerston
- Copperhouse Chocolate – an artisan vegan chocolate shop in Islington
- Mother Earth – a healthy living shop, also in Islington
- Humble Meal – chef-prepared meals in Clapton, for enjoyment at home
- The Wine Barrel – purveyors of quality Kosher wines in N16
- RELX – vapes & e-cigarettes from the Isle of Dogs
- Ocean Wine – a local favourite wine & booze shop in Canonbury
With a nice mix of small independents, and bigger supermarkets, we have a great range of things you could want delivered to your door.
Expanded service area
We started out in Hackney, Islington, and parts of Tower Hamlets, and thanks to your support have been able to expand to an area around triple that size, alongside our operation in the City of Nottingham as well.
Our latest expansion happened just a couple of weeks ago, so if you live in one of the following areas, you’re now in luck! 👇
- WEST LONDON – Kensal Rise/Kensal Green/Kilburn/Brent Park/Willesden Green
- SOUTH LONDON – Clapham/Battersea/Brixton/Camberwell/Balham
- EAST LONDON – Newbury Park/Ilford/Barking/Goodmayes
Within the next couple of months we hope to cover the whole of London, with expansion to further cities soon after. Keep supporting us, sharing the app with friends, and watch this space!
Live map tracking for your orders
This was a frequently-requested feature, and one that we wanted to build for a while, particularly since we had it as a feature in previous iterations of the Pinga app.
We listened, and our developers worked hard, and we were able to launch this for you at the end of last year. You now get more frequent, accessible updates about the progress of your order, and live map tracking when they are on the way from the shop to your door.
Delivery rating and tipping your Pinga Partner
Our newest, latest feature is the ability to rate your delivery, and to tip your Pinga Partner. This was another heavily requested feature (you’re a lovely, generous bunch!) and we’re delighted to have implemented it.
Just tap the ‘Order complete’ push notification you receive, or head to the ‘Your orders’ section of the app after your delivery is complete.
